Overview

Bottom line

Suno is an AI music generator that writes complete songs, with vocals, lyrics and instrumentals, from a text prompt. A prompt can also draw on audio uploads, images, video and earlier Suno songs, and the v6 models can rewrite one section, change a single lyric or build a new beat around a sampled riff while keeping the rest of a track. Suno runs in the browser and as iOS and Android apps.

It suits creators who want original songs for videos, podcasts or games without hiring musicians, and songwriters who want to hear a rough idea sung back faster than they could record a demo.

The caveat is the gap between making songs and keeping them. Every generation produces two songs, and paid plans include far more credits than downloads, so the monthly download allowance, not the credit balance, decides how many finished tracks leave the platform. Since September 3, 2026 those limits also cover songs made before that date, although every song stays playable and shareable on Suno.

Individuals subscribe on the web or in the apps. Commercial use rights come only with a paid plan, and Suno Studio, the editor for stems and samples, comes with the top plan.

Ways to pay

App subscriptions, API usage, team workspaces, and enterprise contracts can follow different billing paths. See the pricing guide for current plan and meter details.

  • App subscription

    Primary

    Suno subscription

    From $8/mo

Pro and Premier cost $10 and $30 a month, or $8 and $24 a month billed yearly, for 2,500 or 10,000 credits and 20 or 60 song downloads a month. A generation makes two songs for 10 credits, so downloads run out long before credits. Unused credits do not roll over.

  • App subscription

    Extra credits and downloads

    Bundled access

Pro and Premier subscribers can buy more credits and more downloads. Purchased credits do not expire but need an active subscription, and subscribers who run out also get 50 bonus credits a day until renewal. Suno's pricing page lists no pack prices.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Suno free?

Yes. The Free plan gives 50 credits a day, enough for five generations or ten songs, on the v6-mini model only. It has no commercial rights and, since September 3, 2026, no monthly downloads: free users who joined before that date keep up to 7 lifetime trial downloads for personal use.

How many songs can I make with Suno Pro?

Each generation makes two songs for 10 credits, so Pro's 2,500 monthly credits cover about 500 songs. Pro allows 20 song downloads a month, so downloads run out long before credits. Prompts with many images or videos, and Max Mode, cost more credits.

Which Suno plans get v6?

v6 and v6-wild are on Pro and Premier; Free users get v6-mini. Suno retired every model before v6, so new songs and new versions of older songs all use the v6 family.

Can I use Suno songs commercially?

Songs you download on Pro or Premier come with commercial use rights. Trial downloads on the Free plan are for personal use only.

Do Suno credits roll over?

No. Subscription credits do not carry over from day to day or month to month. Credits bought separately do not expire but need an active subscription, and subscribers who run out also get 50 bonus credits a day until the plan renews.
