What one generation costs

The VIDEO 3.0 model guide charges per second of output, with different rates by resolution and audio:

Cost grows in step with length: a 10-second clip costs twice a 5-second one, and VIDEO 3.0 runs from 3 to 15 seconds. Kling's credit cost guide puts native 4K on the VIDEO 3.0 series at 30 credits per second, or 150 for five seconds. The Kling 4.0 guide allows clips up to 30 seconds but gives no credit rate, so the generation panel is the only place to see a Kling 4.0 price before you submit.

Credits are deducted when a generation starts and refunded if it fails. The policy refunds only failed generations, so a clip you discard is still charged, which is why attempts, not finished clips, set the budget. As a ToolColumn example, 20 finished 5-second clips at 720p without audio, with three attempts each, need 20 × 3 × 30 = 1,800 credits: more than Standard's 660, within Pro's 3,000.

When Kling credits expire

Kling keeps several balances, and the one with the shortest remaining validity is spent first:

Monthly subscription credits: valid for 31 days from issue. Unused ones expire when the subscription ends.
Daily login credits for subscribers: offered during events, in an amount Kling announces, and gone at midnight.
Monthly free credits for non-subscribers: claimed on login and valid for 31 days.
7-day trial credits: valid for 7 days.
Purchased credits: valid for two years, and they stay after a subscription ends.

Unused monthly credits never last beyond their 31 days. Credits cannot be transferred between accounts or spaces or exchanged for membership, according to the Credits Policy.

Top-ups: $1 for 66 credits, without plan features

Kling's standard top-up rate is $1 for 66 credits, about $1.52 per 100. A subscription is cheaper per credit: Standard renews at $8.80 for 660 credits, about $1.33 per 100, and the yearly Standard plan at $79.20 works out to $1.00. Kling's own page shows $1.06 per 100 for Standard because it uses the $6.99 first-month price. Buying Standard's 660 credits as a top-up would cost $10.

The difference is what each route unlocks and how long it lasts. Top-up credits keep for two years but do not unlock 1080p or 4K, watermark removal or commercial use; those come only with an active plan. A top-up suits an occasional burst on output you are allowed to use; a plan suits monthly work that needs those features, provided you spend the pool within 31 days.

Does every free Kling AI account receive 66 credits a day?

No. Kling publishes no 66-credit daily grant for free accounts. Basic has no monthly subscription pool; non-subscribers can claim a monthly batch of free credits on login, valid for 31 days, but Kling does not publish the amount. Daily login credits are a subscriber benefit during announced events, in an amount Kling announces, and they expire at midnight.

Do monthly Kling subscription credits roll over?
