For light use the BytePlus API is the cheaper bill and Dreamina the cheaper start. At 720p, $15 of API spend makes about 65 seconds of Seedance 2.5 or about 200 seconds of Seedance 2.0 Mini, so under 65 seconds of 720p Seedance 2.5 a month the API costs less than Dreamina's $15 Basic plan, but only after more than $30 goes into the BytePlus account. Above that, the answer turns on what Dreamina's 10-second video counts assume: if they are 720p Seedance 2.5, Basic makes about 190 seconds for the same $15.
Converted to a cost per second from BytePlus's 5-second examples (ToolColumn arithmetic), Seedance 2.5 costs about $0.10 at 480p, $0.23 at 720p and $0.57 at 1080p. Moving a clip from 720p to 1080p multiplies its cost by about 2.5, and 480p to 1080p by 5.5, while the whole model range at 720p, from 2.0 Mini to 2.5, spans about 3 times. Because tokens grow with clip length, a 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 1080p comes to roughly $17 as an illustration, six times the 5-second price. 4K exists only on Seedance 2.0, at about $0.78 a second. A video input lowers the per-token rate but adds its own length to the token count, so it raises the price: a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.5 clip made from a 2 to 30-second input video costs $1.244 to $4.838 in BytePlus's examples.
Seedance 2.5 can render a 480p draft and then build the final from it. BytePlus bills the draft as an ordinary 480p video and the final at its own resolution, which must be 1080p. A 5-second draft costs $0.514, about 18% of the $2.843 final. As an illustration, a shot that takes three attempts costs $8.53 rendered straight at 1080p, or $4.39 as three drafts and one final. Drafting comes out ahead whenever a kept shot averages more than about 1.2 attempts, assuming a good draft leads to a good final; for a shot that works first time, it adds 18%. For 720p delivery the sum changes, because the final must be 1080p: drafting pays only above about 4.4 attempts per kept shot.
Dreamina's plan cards count 10-second videos per month. Dividing each price by its count (ToolColumn arithmetic) shows how little a bigger plan changes the unit price:
Plan | Monthly price | 10-second videos (Dreamina's count) | Per video |
|---|
Basic | $15 | 19 | $0.79 |
Standard | $36 | 48 | $0.75 |
Advanced | $159 | 220 | $0.72 |
Ultra | $520 | 737 | $0.71 |
Every plan implies about 80 credits per video, so a bigger plan mostly adds volume. At $0.07 to $0.08 a second, Dreamina's counted videos cost about what Seedance 2.0 Mini does at 720p on the API ($0.076) and a third of Seedance 2.5 at 720p. Dreamina does not say which model the counts assume, though its Standard, Advanced and Ultra cards advertise credit savings on Seedance 2.5 at 720p; above about 65 seconds of 720p Seedance 2.5 a month, check the credit cost Dreamina shows for your clip before choosing the subscription.
CapCut's pricing page lists Seedance 2.5 from $0.12 a second in the first month on Pro, which includes 1,200 AI credits a month. That is about half the API's $0.23 a second for 720p Seedance 2.5, but ToolColumn could not confirm which resolution it covers or what it costs after the first month; CapCut's plan prices did not display in ToolColumn's region on October 20, 2026. Multi-model apps price Seedance in their own credits instead: Higgsfield lists about 22 credits for a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip, and its $19 Starter plan includes only Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini. Which model fits which job, and what 15 and 30-second clips cost on each, is covered in Seedance 2.5 vs 2.0 vs Fast vs Mini.
