Overview

Bottom line

Lovable is a chat-based app builder: you describe a web app or website, Lovable writes the code, and the same workspace can host the result with a built-in backend and AI features. It suits founders, product managers, designers and small teams who want a working prototype or internal tool without setting up a development stack, and who are comfortable steering an AI through many short requests.

The core caveat is that one credit balance pays for everything. Building, chatting with Lovable, hosting the app and the AI calls the finished app makes all draw on the same credits, and a build request costs more or less depending on how much work it takes. A busy month of building and a popular app can both empty the balance, and up to 5,000 credits a month a Business credit costs twice what a Pro credit does.

Plans are bought per workspace and priced by monthly credits rather than seats, so a team shares one pool. Larger needs go to higher credit tiers, one-time top-ups, or Enterprise contracts with volume pricing.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Lovable free?

Yes, to start. The Free plan gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting. Editing or downloading the code and custom domains need Pro or above.

Does Lovable charge per seat?

No. Every plan allows unlimited workspace members, and plans are priced by the credits they include. Inviting more people changes how fast the shared credits run out, not the price.

Do Lovable credits roll over?

Yes, while you stay subscribed. Unused monthly credits on Pro and Business roll over and expire two months after they were issued, or one month after the annual period ends on annual billing. Daily build credits and monthly grants do not roll over.

How much does a Lovable top-up cost?

$15 per 50 credits on Pro and $30 per 50 credits on Business. Top-up credits last 12 months and cost the same on monthly and annual billing.

Why does Lovable Business cost twice as much as Pro?

Business adds team features such as SSO, role-based access and a team workspace, and its credits are priced higher. Lovable says hosting and app AI features cost the same in dollars on both, so Business shows fewer credits used for them.
