Seedance Pricing: What Seedance 2.5 Costs on the API, Dreamina and CapCut
Where you can use ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 and what each route charges: BytePlus API token prices for a 5-second clip, Dreamina's monthly credits, CapCut's AI credits, and the break-even between paying per second and subscribing.
UpdatedOctober 20, 2026
In short
Seedance has no price of its own: ByteDance sells it through other products, and each one is a separate bill. On the BytePlus ModelArk API, a 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip costs $1.156 at 720p and $2.843 at 1080p, charged only when the video generates. Dreamina sells monthly credits from $15 for 1,575, which it says make 19 ten-second videos. CapCut includes Seedance in its AI credits, and apps such as Higgsfield offer it for their own credits. At 720p, $15 on the API buys about 65 seconds of Seedance 2.5; Dreamina's $15 plan counts 190 seconds of video but does not say on which model or resolution.

The API charges $0.10 to $0.57 a second for Seedance 2.5
BytePlus prices Seedance by tokens, which grow with the clip's length, resolution and frame rate, and publishes what a 5-second 16:9 clip costs without a video input:
Model | 480p | 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Seedance 2.5 | $0.514 | $1.156 | $2.843 | not listed |
Seedance 2.0 | $0.35 | $0.76 | $1.87 | $3.89 |
Seedance 2.0 Fast | $0.28 | $0.60 | not listed | not listed |
Seedance 2.0 Mini | $0.18 | $0.38 | not listed | not listed |
At 720p, Seedance 2.5 costs about half as much again as 2.0, and resolution moves the price more than the model does: a 1080p 2.5 clip costs over five times a 480p one. A video input lowers the per-token rate but adds its own length to the token count, with a minimum charge. Seedance 2.5's draft mode bills its first pass at 480p before the final render. Failed generations, including those stopped by moderation, cost nothing.
Dreamina's plan counts work out to $0.07 to $0.08 per video-second
Dreamina, ByteDance's creative app, sells Seedance through monthly credits. Its plan cards count 10-second videos:
Plan | Monthly price | Credits | 10-second videos (Dreamina's count) | Per video (ToolColumn arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Basic | $15 | 1,575 | 19 | $0.79 |
Standard | $36 | 3,885 | 48 | $0.75 |
Advanced | $159 | 17,600 | 220 | $0.72 |
Ultra | $520 | 59,000 | 737 | $0.71 |
The counts imply about 80 credits per 10-second video on every plan, so a bigger plan mostly adds volume: the price per video falls only from $0.79 to $0.71. Dreamina does not say which model or resolution the counts assume; its Standard, Advanced and Ultra cards mention credit savings on Seedance 2.5 at 720p. Advanced also comes in 8,600, 23,500 and 35,500-credit tiers. The prices above are the regular monthly ones; a first-month discount was running until October 23. Commercial use depends on Dreamina's terms.
Break-even: about 65 seconds a month
As an illustration, compare Dreamina Basic with the API at 720p. Basic's $15 buys about 65 seconds of Seedance 2.5 on the API at $0.231 a second. If Basic's 19 ten-second videos were 720p Seedance 2.5, the same $15 would make 190 seconds, about $0.079 a second. Dreamina does not say so, and its Standard, Advanced and Ultra cards advertise credit savings on Seedance 2.5 at 720p while every plan implies the same 80 credits a video, so the counts may assume a cheaper model or resolution. Below roughly 65 seconds a month the API costs less whatever Dreamina's counts mean; above it, check the credit cost Dreamina shows for your clip before choosing the subscription. The API is also the route for code-driven work, and it charges nothing for failed generations.
CapCut and resellers bill in their own credits
CapCut's pricing page lists 1,200 monthly AI credits on Pro and Seedance 2.5 "from $0.12/sec" in the first month, and from $0.18 a second, also in the first month, on a higher tier with 8,645 credits; its plan prices did not display in ToolColumn's region on October 20, 2026.
Third-party apps offer Seedance inside their own plans. Higgsfield, for example, lists about 22 credits for a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip and about 60 at 1080p, and its plan cards imply about 15 credits per Seedance 2.5 video (ToolColumn arithmetic; the cards give no length or resolution); its $19 Starter plan includes only Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini.
ToolColumn found no statement on any of these pricing pages that one route's balance can be spent in another, so budget a BytePlus API balance, Dreamina credits, CapCut credits and a reseller's credits as separate bills.

FAQ
Common questions
Is there an official Seedance subscription?
ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 page lists no subscription of its own. It points to API access on BytePlus ModelArk and to the Dola app and the BytePlus Playground for trying the model, and Dreamina and CapCut sell it through their credits.
How much does a Seedance 2.5 video cost on the API?
BytePlus lists $0.514 for a 5-second 16:9 clip at 480p, $1.156 at 720p and $2.843 at 1080p, without video input. Only successfully generated videos are charged.
Is Seedance 2.0 cheaper than 2.5?
Yes. On BytePlus, a 5-second 720p clip costs $0.76 on Seedance 2.0 and $1.156 on 2.5, about half as much again. Seedance 2.0 Fast costs $0.60 and 2.0 Mini $0.38 at 720p.
Can I use Seedance credits from Dreamina in CapCut or on the API?
Dreamina, CapCut and BytePlus each have their own pricing page, and ToolColumn found no statement on any of them that credits can be spent in another. Budget each route as its own bill.
