Watchouts
These are the boundary conditions and purchase traps worth checking before you optimize for the lowest headline number.
Meta states allowances in Muse tokens per week and does not convert them into messages, tasks or hours.
Cheaper API tokens and more Muse Code usage come from letting Meta train on your content; Muse Code subscriptions default to it.
Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing and not offered in every location.
Cancelling keeps benefits to the end of the billing cycle, with no credit or partial refund unless required by law.
Editorial pricing notes
Plan caveats, contract terms, and feature-access limits that can change what you actually pay.
Meta sells three things under the Muse name, each on its own bill. The Muse personal agent has a free tier and two monthly plans. Muse Code, Meta's coding agent for the terminal, has four subscription plans or pay-as-you-go billing. The Meta Model API charges developers per token, per image or per hour of audio.
Muse agent plan | Price | Weekly usage |
|---|---|---|
Free | $0 | A usage limit that refreshes; Meta does not publish the amount |
Power | $20/month | 500 million Muse tokens per week |
Maximum | $100/month | 3 billion Muse tokens per week |
Maximum gives six times the Power allowance for five times the price. Plans renew monthly on the date you subscribed, and Meta's help pages list no annual option. You subscribe with a Meta account in the Muse mobile app or at muse.ai; subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play are cancelled there.
Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing and are not available in every location. You must be 18 or the age of majority where you live, and benefits can vary by region and account; the ones shown during onboarding are the ones that apply. Cancelling keeps your benefits until the end of the billing cycle, and Meta gives no credit or partial refund for a cancelled month unless the law requires it.
Muse Code is a separate product with its own plans. Meta's documentation lists four, defined by usage relative to the entry plan, and shows prices only during onboarding:
Muse Code plan | Usage | Adds |
|---|---|---|
Everyday Usage | 10 to 50 prompts every 5 hours | Muse models, voice mode, web search |
High Usage | 5x Everyday | More multimodal inputs |
Power Usage | 20x Everyday | The most powerful Muse models, early access, higher file uploads |
Maximum Usage | 80x Everyday | Everything in Power |
Muse Code subscriptions default to Contributor mode, which gives more usage in exchange for letting Meta train future models on your prompts, code and files; you can turn it off in settings. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge, downgrades at the next billing cycle. A subscription covers only the Muse Code CLI key; other API keys on the account bill pay-as-you-go.
Model or service | Standard mode | Contributor mode |
|---|---|---|
Muse Spark | $1.25 input, $4.25 output, $0.15 cached input per 1M tokens | $0.10 input, $0.20 output, $0.002 cached input per 1M tokens |
Muse Wonder | $4 input, $20 output, $0.20 cached input per 1M tokens | Not available |
Muse Image | $0.01 per generated image | — |
Web search grounding | $2.50 per 1,000 queries plus tokens | — |
Muse Voice Transcribe | $0.18 per hour of audio | Not available |
There is no long-context premium. Contributor mode is the same model at a fraction of the price, paid for with permission to train on your content, so it suits prototypes and public code rather than client or confidential work. Standard mode allows 3,000 requests and 4 million tokens per minute per team; Contributor mode allows 150 requests and 3 million tokens per minute.
