Ideogram says the Basic plan is now a legacy plan and is no longer available for purchase, so Plus is the current entry point for new paid customers. The company also says it does not restrict your rights in your output across plans, subject to its Terms of Service.

What the credits mean

The subscription is not purely flat-rate. Paid plans include monthly priority credits, while the free plan relies on slow credits that reset weekly. The pricing docs also show model-dependent costs, including Ideogram 3.0 generation at 2, 4, or 6 credits per 4 images depending on Turbo, Default, or Quality rendering.

Top-ups are also plan dependent. Plus gets $4 for 150 extra credits, while Pro and Team get $4 for 250 extra credits. That makes Pro and Team more efficient for sustained high-volume output.

Feature gating to know before you pay

Plus is where Ideogram starts to feel complete. That is the tier where private generation, image upload, Style Reference, full Character Reference, Canvas tools, Magic Fill, and Extend are available.

Pro and Team are mostly about scale. They raise concurrency, increase priority credits, and unlock Batch Generation with CSV upload for bulk creative production.

Separate API billing

Ideogram's documentation says user subscriptions and API accounts are separate and use different payment systems. If you want API access, budget it separately from the web and iOS plans.

The API pricing page says image generation and editing endpoints are billed per output image, while Upscale and Describe are billed per input. The API balance uses its own funding and auto top-up flow.

Bottom line

For most solo users, Plus is the real starting plan. Pro only makes sense once you know you need batch workflows or much higher monthly volume, and Team is best when you specifically need multi-member paid access.
