Recommended baseline
This is ToolColumn's recommended starting tier for this plan comparison.
Real entry point
This is the first practical paid tier after entry-level limits are taken into account.
Annual billing
Annual billing lowers the displayed monthly equivalent and delivers an annual allowance, but buyers should confirm the exact yearly charge, renewal timing, rollover treatment and selected Action and Data Credit tiers before committing.
API boundary
Public API, CLI and Agent Plugin work shares the workspace's Actions and Data Credits; the Agent Plugin is open beta, Workflows operations through it are Alpha, HTTP API integrations are a Growth feature, and read-only table access is Enterprise-only.
Tracks
Free
Use free access to understand tables, waterfalls, Claygent, provider success rates and workspace usage before modeling production spend.
Best for: Operators validating a small enrichment or research workflow
Avoid if: The evaluation requires phone enrichment, CRM sync, HTTP API integrations, webhooks or production-scale rows
$185/mo · annual $167/mo
Use Launch when the team needs repeatable sourcing, signals, phone enrichment, Functions and campaign activation without CRM or warehouse auto-sync.
Best for: Individuals and small GTM teams building repeatable prospecting
Avoid if: First-party CRM or warehouse data must sync automatically or the workflow depends on HTTP API integrations
$495/seat/mo · annual $446/seat/mo
Use Growth when Clay must sit between systems of record, webhooks, intent, APIs and downstream audience or campaign destinations.
Best for: RevOps and growth teams operating shared CRM-based workflows
Avoid if: The job is still a lightweight list-building experiment or it needs Enterprise governance and bulk scale
Custom
Use Enterprise procurement for larger data estates, bulk enrichment, advanced roles, budgets, security controls and hands-on implementation support.
Best for: Large organizations standardizing Clay across GTM teams
Avoid if: Published self-serve capacities and controls already cover the operating model
Access paths
Each access path shows who owns the bill and whether access is bundled, separately metered, sold as an add-on, or handled through sales.
Use Clay's web workspace to learn tables, waterfalls, Claygent and provider behavior with the Free plan's shared usage limits.
Best for: Small, representative enrichment and research tests
Boundary: Free limits do not include every paid enrichment or system-integration capability; the separate 14-day trial exposes a broader evaluation surface.
Use the paid entry workspace for repeatable prospecting, signals, phone enrichment, Functions and campaign integrations.
Best for: A first production GTM motion without CRM or warehouse auto-sync
Boundary: The workspace shares selected Actions and Data Credits; CRM sync, HTTP API integrations, web intent and broader activation require Growth.
Use Growth when Clay must sync first-party systems, call APIs, receive webhooks and activate enriched audiences downstream.
Best for: Cross-functional RevOps, growth and marketing operations teams
Boundary: Self-serve usage tiers remain shared at workspace level; bulk scale, deeper governance and some data-layer controls move to Enterprise.
Run searches and reusable routines programmatically, or build through supported agent and terminal surfaces.
Best for: Backend systems, coding agents and operators scripting repeatable GTM work
Boundary: There is no separate API meter, but plan limits apply; the Agent Plugin is open beta, Workflows authoring is Alpha and read-only table access is Enterprise-only.
Negotiate capacity, data-layer scale, governance, security, support and implementation terms with Clay.
Best for: Large or regulated deployments with centralized GTM infrastructure
Boundary: Price, annual commitment, Actions, Data Credits, bulk volume, roles, budgets, support and any add-ons belong in the order form.

Watchouts
These are the boundary conditions and purchase traps worth checking before you optimize for the lowest headline number.
Actions cover orchestration capacity, while Data Credits cover marketplace data and AI; upgrade the meter that reflects the actual bottleneck.
Spend changes with provider, data type, waterfall order, success rate, AI model and the number of billable steps run for each record.
External data or AI keys can remove Clay Data Credit charges for that provider, but Clay still uses Actions and the provider bills its own account.
The graph orchestration surface remains open beta, and some Workflows operations through the Agent Plugin or CLI retain an Alpha boundary.
Public searches and routines, Growth HTTP API integrations, Enterprise table reads and Alpha Workflows authoring do not share one capability or availability boundary.
The lower monthly equivalent comes with annual billing and different credit delivery or rollover behavior; confirm the actual annual total at checkout.
Workspace seats are not the pricing unit, but external providers, CRMs, sequencers, ad platforms and other activation tools can add their own charges.
Editorial pricing notes
Plan caveats, contract terms, and feature-access limits that can change what you actually pay.
Start with Clay's free workspace when the aim is to learn tables, waterfalls, Claygent and the shape of the data before committing. Use the time-limited trial when the evaluation must include CRM connections, webhooks or HTTP API integrations. For a production prospecting motion that does not depend on first-party system sync, Launch is the clearest paid benchmark.
Treat Growth as the threshold for an operating GTM system rather than as a simple capacity bump. Its value appears when Clay needs to refresh CRM or warehouse data, react to web intent, call arbitrary HTTP endpoints or push audiences downstream. Enterprise becomes the appropriate commercial conversation when the deployment needs larger data layers, bulk work, stronger permissions or dedicated implementation support.
Upgrade because a workflow needs a gated capability or durable operating scale, not because one enrichment looked expensive. Launch fits repeatable sourcing and signal-driven prospecting; Growth becomes necessary when source-of-truth sync and broader activation are part of the workflow. A higher Actions tier solves orchestration capacity, while a larger Data Credits tier solves marketplace data or AI consumption, so diagnose which meter is creating pressure before changing the plan.
Workflows can strengthen that operating case, but the graph-based Workflows product is still in open beta. Its runs use the same Actions and Data Credits as tables, with billable nodes charged per record. Treat it as a feature under evaluation and keep mature Functions or table-based logic available for production work that cannot absorb beta change.
Clay does not present programmatic access as a separate meter: Public API, CLI and Agent Plugin calls consume the same Actions and Data Credits as equivalent in-product work. The Agent Plugin is open beta, workflow building through the plugin or CLI is Alpha, and capabilities vary by plan. Searches and routines have tiered limits, read-only table access is Enterprise-only, and HTTP API integrations inside Clay begin with Growth.
Workspace access is not priced per seat on the current plan table, and adding collaborators does not create independent usage pools. Actions and Data Credits belong to the workspace. Enterprise adds deeper roles, permissions and budget controls, while connections, CRM licenses, data-provider subscriptions, AI-provider keys, sequencers, ad platforms and other destination tools can still be billed by their owners.
Before paying, reproduce the intended workflow with representative rows and note each step that uses an Action, Data Credits or an external account. Enrichment cost varies with data type, provider, waterfall order, success conditions and AI model. A universal cost per record or lead would therefore be misleading; use in-product previews and a small run to build an estimate for the actual workflow.
Then verify billing cadence, annual total, included Actions, selected Data Credits, rollover rules, top-up terms, renewal date and permissions. Annual pricing lowers the monthly equivalent but changes commitment and credit delivery. Confirm the Workflows beta boundary, developer availability, CRM sync scope, export behavior and downstream charges immediately before procurement.

FAQ
Yes. Free access includes 500 Actions and 100 Data Credits per month, unlimited seats and tables, multi-provider waterfalls, Claygent, bring-your-own-key support and a 200-row limit per table.
Launch lists $185 per month on monthly billing or a $167 monthly equivalent on annual billing. Growth lists $495 monthly or a $446 annual monthly equivalent. Enterprise pricing is custom.
Actions measure platform work such as enrichments, AI runs, exports and GTM execution. Data Credits pay for data or AI bought through Clay's marketplace. A single step can use both.
No. Clay-managed marketplace usage can consume Data Credits, while bring-your-own provider keys shift those charges to the provider. CRM, sequencer, ad-platform and other destination subscriptions remain separate.
Clay says Public API, CLI and Agent Plugin work use the same Actions and Data Credits as equivalent in-product operations, without an added API charge. Endpoint availability and limits still vary by plan, and read-only table access is Enterprise-only.
Workflows remains in open beta. Clay says it is available indefinitely without an added feature fee on Launch, Growth and Enterprise, while eligible legacy plans retain access through the end of 2026; billable steps still consume Actions and Data Credits.
