The X Subscription Explained: Grok, Cursor and X Premium by Plan
The X Subscription bundles Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium: Free, Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100 and Ultra $200 a month with one weekly pool. See what each tier includes and whether to switch from SuperGrok or Cursor Pro.
The X Subscription is one plan from SpaceXAI that covers Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium benefits. It launched on October 12, 2026 with five tiers: Free, Plus at $8, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200 a month. Every paid tier draws on one weekly usage pool shared between Grok and Cursor, stated as a multiple of Plus. Grok Bot, video generation and third-party models in Cursor start at Premium, and X Premium+ benefits come with Premium and above.
What each tier includes
Tier | Price | Weekly pool | Grok | Cursor | X (connected personal account) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Free | $0 | Limited | Daily access to Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build | Starter allowance for coding agents | Standard X |
Plus | $8/month or $80/year | Base | Full Chat, Voice, Imagine and Build; Grok API access | Coding agent with Grok models only | Checkmark, creator tools, fewer ads |
Premium | $30/month or $300/year | 4x Plus | Adds Grok Bot, video generation, latest models, faster Chat | Adds cloud agents, Origin code hosting, Bugbot reviews, third-party models at API list price | Full X Premium+ |
Super | $100/month or $1,000/year | 15x Plus | Adds priority model access at peak times | Same as Premium, with priority at peak times | Full X Premium+ |
Ultra | $200/month or $2,000/year | 50x Plus | Adds earliest access to new products and models | Same as Super, with earliest access | Full X Premium+ |
Listed prices are before tax. In SpaceXAI's own guidance, Premium suits people new to AI, Super suits those who run agents every day, Ultra is for power users and Plus is aimed at social creators who use AI lightly. Product details are on Grok pricing and Cursor pricing.
How the shared pool works
Each paid seat gets one weekly allowance for first-party usage across Grok and Cursor: chatting with Grok, generating images and video, running Grok Bot, and coding with Grok models or Composer in Cursor. Different actions draw different amounts, and the allowance refreshes weekly. SpaceXAI publishes no message or video counts, only the multiples.
Two things sit outside the pool. Third-party models in Cursor, such as Claude, GPT and Gemini, are billed at API list prices from prepaid top-up credit from the first request. First-party usage beyond the weekly pool is paid from the same credit until the refresh. A monthly spending cap limits both. On team plans, third-party requests also carry a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens.
Teams and Enterprise
Teams buy Premium, Super or Ultra seats at the same per-user prices and can mix tiers; Plus is not sold for teams. Each seat keeps its own weekly pool, the workspace shares one prepaid balance, and team plans add SSO, admin controls, centralized billing, usage analytics and a team marketplace for Cursor rules, skills and plugins. Each member gets X benefits by connecting their own personal X account. Enterprise is sales-led and pools usage across the whole organization, with invoice billing, SCIM and audit logs.
Should you switch from an older plan?
Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscriptions continue at their current price and features, and switching is optional. New customers can only buy The X Subscription. SpaceXAI says it will eventually move remaining customers, with advance notice and no timeline yet.
Your existing plan | Closest new tier | What changes if you switch |
|---|---|---|
Existing SuperGrok ($30) | Premium ($30) | Adds Cursor and X Premium+ at the same price; Grok Bot and video stay |
Existing SuperGrok Plus ($100) | Super ($100) | Adds Cursor and X Premium+; the pool is shared with Cursor |
Existing SuperGrok Heavy | Ultra ($200) | The largest pool on the new ladder; check Heavy-only features before switching |
Existing Cursor Pro ($20) | Premium ($30) | Adds Grok, Grok Bot and X Premium+; included third-party usage ends, so Claude and GPT move to API list price |
Existing Cursor Pro+ ($60) or Ultra ($200) | Super ($100) or Ultra ($200) | More first-party coding usage; third-party usage moves to API list price |
Existing X Premium or Premium+ | Plus ($8) or Premium ($30) | Premium+ benefits need Premium or higher |
Premium is the tier SpaceXAI describes as including the benefits of the older SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+ plans, which it says cost $90 a month combined. The mapping for the other tiers is ToolColumn's reading of the features, not an official conversion.
Before switching, check four things:
- Third-party models. If you use Claude or GPT in Cursor every day, estimate that usage at API list prices. On the older Cursor Pro, Pro+ and Ultra plans it came out of an included pool; on The X Subscription it is paid separately.
- Permanence. Switching combines your Cursor, Grok and X accounts and cannot be undone by support.
- Billing. Old plans are cancelled at checkout with an automatic prorated refund to the original payment method, and the new plan starts that day at full price. Switching offers appear in your billing settings.
- App stores. A Cursor plan billed through the Apple App Store is not cancelled for you; cancel it in Apple's settings. Grok, Grok Bot or X Premium bought through Google Play may need cancelling there.
What stays separate
The xAI API on the xAI Console is billed separately per token, even though Plus and higher list Grok API access inside the pool. X itself remains free to use without any plan. For a breakdown of the weekly pool by product, see Grok usage limits by plan and Cursor usage limits explained.

FAQ
Common questions
What is The X Subscription?
A single plan from SpaceXAI, launched on October 12, 2026, that covers Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium benefits. It has Free, Plus ($8), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) tiers, with one weekly usage pool shared between Grok and Cursor.
Which X Subscription tier includes Grok Bot?
Premium, Super and Ultra, including team seats at those tiers. Plus and Free do not include Grok Bot, and Bot usage draws from the same weekly pool as Grok and Cursor.
Does The X Subscription include Claude or GPT in Cursor?
No. Third-party models are not part of any tier. From Premium up you can use them in Cursor at API list prices, paid from prepaid credit, and Plus is limited to Grok models.
Is the X Subscription cheaper than paying for Grok, Cursor and X separately?
For many people, yes. SpaceXAI says Premium at $30 includes what the older SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+ plans cost $90 a month together. Heavy third-party model users should add their API costs before comparing.
Do I have to switch from SuperGrok or Cursor Pro?
No. Existing plans continue until you change or cancel them. Switching cancels the old plan with a prorated refund, starts the new plan at full price and cannot be undone.
Is there an annual X Subscription plan?
Yes. Plus costs $80, Premium $300, Super $1,000 and Ultra $2,000 a year, twelve months for the price of ten. Team seats are priced per user per month.
